Pacific Repertory Theatre was founded in 1982 to fulfill a need for challenging and artistically satisfying productions through our Great Play Series, in conjunction with community outreach programs such as the Monterey Bay TheatreFest and The Carmel Shake-speare Festival.
In 1994, Pacific Rep purchased and renovated the Golden Bough Playhouse in Carmel, a two-theatre venue, a new home for the establishment of PRT's resident professional company.
