Monterey Peninsula College Theatre Company is one of Monterey County's longest continually producing theatre companies. The MPC Theatre as it stands today first opened in 1970, under the direction of Morgan Stock. Prior to getting a "real theatre" building the shows were presented in a converted classroom. Productions include Main Stage musicals and comedy/dramas, Studio Theatre shows, and two outreach programs, reaching over 15,000 audience members each year. MPC offers an Associate of Arts degree with several different areas of theatrical emphasis.
