The Troupers of the Gold Coast, who have presented continuous productions at California's First Theatre for 63 years, have been without a home as of January 31, 2001, when the old building was shut down for repairs and renovation. At that point the theatre company became a traveling troupe, offering their services to convalescent homes, retirement homes, and to nonprofit organizations for benefits. The Troupers' production is a vaudeville "Olio," an assortment of skits and songs. In addition to the renovations on the building, the artifacts that have been in the building for more than 150 years have been catalogued and stored. For more information phone 375-4916.
