The Forest Theatre Guild is holding auditions for its summer productions in the Capistrano Room in the Conference area of the Carmel Mission Inn. Auditions for JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH will be held on Saturday and Sunday, February 11 and 12, 11:00 am - 1:00 pm. Needed are 15 - 20 men, women and children age 8 - 18. Auditions for CYRANO DE BERGERAC will be held on Saturday and Sunday February 11 and 12, 2:00 - 4:00 pm. Needed are 20 - 25 in the cast, mostly men, 5-9 women, ages 18-65 for both men and women. Call Back is February 18 at 11:00 am - 1:00 pm for JAMES and 2:000 - 4:00 pm for CYRANO. The PEACh script is the Roald Dahl adaptation taken directly from the book. CYRANO is the Burgess adaptation taken from the book and was the French Film version and the 1950s version done in B & W starring Jose Ferrer. PacRep Theatre has announced Open Auditions for community singers, dancers, and actors for PacRep’s 2012 season musicals - FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, DISNEY’S BEAUTY AND THE BEAST and SPAMALOT. Auditions will be held on Saturday, Feb 4, 10:00 am - 5:00 pm; Sunday, Feb. 5, 9:00 am - 12:00 noon; and Monday, Feb. 6, 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm at the Golden Bough Playhouse, on Monte Verde between 8th & 9th, in Carmel. Audition time is three minutes, consisting of two contrasting one minute song excerpts (upbeat and ballad), and a one minute monologue or poem. Featured roles for singers, dancers and actors Adult and student roles (nine and above) are available (Some exceptions for performers younger than nine may be made for returning performers and SoDA students.) For Musical auditions we request two contrasting songs, one up tempo and one ballad, no more than one-minute each. In addition, a short one-minute monologue is also requested. Accompanist will be provided. Please bring sheet music in your key.
Rehearsals for FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, directed by John Rousseau, begin in mid-March with performances from April 26 - May 27, 2012 at the Golden Bough Theatre. Rehearsals for DISNEY’S BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, directed by Walter DeFaria, begin in early-July with performances from Aug. 16 - Sept. 23, 2012 at the Outdoor Forest Theater. Rehearsals for SPAMALOT, directed by Stephen Moorer, begin in mid-October with performances from Nov. 21 - Dec. 23, 2012 at the Golden Bough Theatre. Volunteers are critically important to PacRep in Carmel. We are proud to have more than 200 volunteers who donate their time and talents to help the theatre realize its goal of reaching out to the community. Volunteers serve as greeters and ushers, provide general office assistance, prepare food for the theater's tech dinners, assist the staff with Costume upkeep, and work at special events.
